Yes, I think these inscribed punks often now do add background colors as a nod to the protocol they're on. I believe BTC Punks did the same, adding the BTC orange to theirs. While these inscribed punks (BTC, ETH, and other chains) are the same as the OGs, the difference is the way in which the data is stored. These are all marking the first time the image data is stored on call data of individual transactions, making them novel for that reason. On Ethscriptions, the punks are further distinguished by being generally the earliest 10k ethscriptions ever made.
